Interest in the world for Russian weapons has reached a record level following the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said on Monday, during a discussion at the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin, writes Agerpres.
“Until 2022, the maximum value of the orders was 55 billion dollars. Today, with 70 billion dollars of contracts already signed, we have a record,” indicated the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.
He explained this interest in Russian-made weapons by the fact that the war in Ukraine allowed the testing of military equipment in real combat conditions that showed their performance level, so “the technology tested under the conditions of the special military operation advertised itself.”
A particularly high demand in foreign markets is observed for Russian-made anti-aircraft systems, fighter jets and multiple missile launchers, the Russian official said.
However, he admitted, Russia's military needs to support the war in Ukraine are diminishing its ability to meet export demand, so foreign arms and ammunition deliveries are experiencing delays.
