The financing granted by the European Commission to the various businesses of billionaire Elon Musk were made public following a request for a European deputy, reports to Libre Belgique.

Charging stations for electric cars, satellite launches: In recent years, Brussels has paid hundreds of millions of euros to the richest man on the planet, Elon Musk, very close to Donald Trump and very critical to the EU.

These financing were made public by the commission headed by Ursula von der Leyen following a request made by a MEP.

According to this list consulted by AFP on Tuesday, the billionaire has benefited in particular by about 159 million euros to develop the loader network for Tesla cars on the continent in 2023.

The EU, responsible for the Galileo satellite navigation program, also concluded a contract with Spacex, a company owned by Elon Musk, for launching satellites in 2024. The value of the contract: 197 million dollars, ie about 177 million euros.

The European Commission has paid for one year advertisements on Musk's social network

Until October 2023, the European Executive also broadcast advertisements paid on the social network “X”, on which Musk took control at the end of October 2022.

“It is unacceptable!”, Daniel Freund denounced, the MEP who initiated this request. The German ecologist urged the Commission to cease financing to Elon Musk, whom he described as “a declared enemy of the EU and our fundamental values.”

The richest man on the planet regularly accuses Europe of censorship, due to the investigation that the Commission conducts against its social network “X”, accused of obstructing its powerful regulation on digital field.

The billionaire has also intervened more and more often in European affairs in recent months, expressing its unequivocal support for the far-right German, the destabilization of the government in the United Kingdom, and Călin Georgescu in Romania.
