Commission for abuse research verifies detention conditions in Vaslui Penitentiary

A delegation of the Commission for researching abuses, corruption and petitions from the Chamber of Deputies will make an official visit to Vaslui Penitentiary on Wednesday.

The delegation will analyze the conditions of the Photo Archive Penitentiary
The Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies approved the commission's request for this visit on Tuesday, which aims to find respect for the fundamental rights of the persons deprived of liberty, in the context of the numerous notifications received by which their violations are presumed, according to Agerpres.
The issues concerned include: overcrowding – a phenomenon with a direct impact on the quality of life and safety of persons deprived of liberty; hygiene and nutrition – essential factors for maintaining a minimum standard of living, according to international norms; Access to medical services – fundamental law that must be insured promptly and without discrimination; compliance with legal rights and the treatment applied by the penitentiary administration, in accordance with the legislation in force.
“Another important objective is the discussions with the management of the penitentiary unit, in order to examine the measures implemented to improve the conditions of detention, as well as to maintain a good institutional relationship between the competent authorities”, is shown in the Commission's request.
