On the other hand, Steel, with 31 points, could reduce the difference from Hermannstadt leader to just two points.

Both Oil and Steel come after failures in the championship: the Ploiesti lost 0-2 in front of UTA, and the Galatians were defeated by Hermannstadt with 1-2.

In the regular season, the direct confrontations between the two teams ended in a draw, 0-0.

The most interesting information about oil – steel

• Eight victories, seven draws and four defeats is the record recorded by Prahoveni this season on their own ground. On the other side, the Galatians won seven of the 19 trips (4 victories outside in 2025), and four times they finished on a draw.
• The Ploiesti scored 10 goals from fixed phases, of which nine following corners.
• Steel is the formation with the most gameless matches – 16 (Petroleum – 13).
• 37 players evolved for Oil in the current edition, Gheorghe Grozav being the only one with presence in all 37 matches (26 as an integralist).
• Moldovans relied on 34 footballers, including Frederic Maciel, the player with the most offensive contributions from the steel group – 15 (six goals, eight decisive passes, a penalty removed).
• 5,869 spectators / match is the average registered by oil on their own ground in the current championship, 7th in this chapter.

Oil and steel have also met in the main internal competition of 41 times, 16 times the prahovenians won, 13 times they won the Galatiansand another 12 games ended in a draw.

• The first match took place on August 24, 1986, 0-0 in Ploiesti, the match recording the first draw checked by Galatians in Superliga. On the technical banks were Mircea Dridea, respectively Constantin Rădulescu.
