Dennis Politic, a 26-year-old player once sidelined by FCSB owner Gigi Becali due to medical issues, is poised to receive another opportunity under new head coach Laurențiu Reghecampf.
Politic was brought to FCSB amid much fanfare from rival Dinamo but failed to make his mark, frequently criticized and hindered by persistent injuries.
Having recovered from his latest medical setback, Reghecampf expressed admiration for the forward, suggesting he may see playing time in the upcoming match against Voluntari.
Reghecampf Praises Dennis Politic
“I haven’t done anything; I just saw a player, Dennis Politic, at practice, a very clever boy who wants to play football. Everything is in his hands; he has the chance to train daily and play well. I’m glad we have already had two or three weeks of work without him suffering any injuries. He possesses great qualities and could assist us if he is fit, and I hope he does from tomorrow night’s game,” Reghecampf stated at a press conference prior to the match.
Politic Takes the Field Under Reghecampf
In the 78th minute of the FCSB vs. Oțelul match, Reghecampf introduced Politic, marking his seventh appearance this season, during which he scored one goal.
After the match, Reghecampf praised the forward, who had previously faced harsh criticism from Becali. “Politic has incredible individual quality!” Reghecampf remarked last week.
“I put Politic in… I’ll give him away for free to anyone who wants him. Whoever wants to take Politic, take him! He cost me two million; take him! He’s not a footballer; I don’t know what I was thinking!” Gigi Becali commented in early August.
A year ago, Gigi Becali paid Dinamo 1.2 million euros for Politic, then the captain of the team. He also sent Alexandru Musi to Dinamo.
After a disappointing first six months, Politic was loaned to Hermannstadt, where he also failed to make a significant impact. He has totaled 31 appearances and scored four goals while playing for Becali’s team.
