Adam Savage, a former host of the “Myth Pogromers” program, believes that studies make sense, but only if we really know what we want to study.

Savage, an expert on special effects and co -host of the popular Discovery program, claims that the decision to undertake studies should be aware.
– We meet the school very early, right? – says. – We start as toddlers, then preschoolers, students, teenagers. We go through the passion of high school, and then “from the machine” we go to college – he added.

Do we really have to go to college?
Savage thinks that everyone should decide for themselves. This should not be a mandatory stage.
– One of my sons took a year after high school and worked at the film production in Los Angeles. It was a great decision for him. He had to pay the rent, he had a roommate. Adult life began for him at the age of 18 – he recalls.
Savage's son returned with La with a baggage of experience after working on independent films. “He got a bone, but it was very valuable,” he adds.
– When you have some life behind you, education gains a completely new dimension. The university ceases to be only an extension of childhood and becomes a conscious choice – says Savage.
His wife also took a break. She abandoned her studies, went to work, and then returned to the university with a completely different attitude.
– She looked at her friends graduated, starting her careers, and she worked as a waitress. At some point she thought: “I lose time, I want to come back.” When she came back, she knew exactly what she wanted Savage recalls.
He points out, however, that going to college is also a good choice for those who have clearly defined interests. – Everyone I know and who returned to study with a specific goal had only Fridays. Because when you really interest you, you just do it and do it well – says.
Finally, he adds that in his opinion we too often overestimate specific experiences, and we devote too little attention to the way people bring to work.
– I know many people who do not deal with professional creators, but I would employ them in my studio without hesitation. Because I see the right skills in them – says Savage.
