In the Museum of the Eastern Czech Republic in Hradec Kralove, unique exhibits appeared – gold coins and jewelry discovered near Dvora Kralove, about 50 km from the border with Poland. The find happened loudly at the end of April. At that time, in the forest there, tourists found 7 kg of zlotys with a value of over 300,000. euro.

After nearly three months of research, historians and specialists from the Museum of the Eastern Czech Republic in Hradec Kralove made unique exhibits available to visitors. These are gold coins, jewelry and other valuables that were found at the beginning of February this year.
Two men during a hiking trip along the slope of the Zwiczina mountain in the North of the Czech Republic came to the unusual pile of stones that aroused their interest. When they looked closely, they noticed a protruding metal can, and about a meter, the iron box. After opening, it turned out that there were nearly 600 zlotys coins inside, a dozen or so snuffle, ten bracelets, chains and other valuables. They were all made of gold, while silver cigarettes were gold -plated. The find weighed over 7 kg.
The treasure first hit the hands of numismatics, and at the same time an employee of the Museum of the Eastern Czech Republic Vojtech Bradle. In an interview with the Czech media, he admitted that the content of the find was a huge surprise to him. Specialists immediately began to study not only the artifacts themselves, but also the places where they were discovered. It was established that valuables were underground no more than a hundred years.
However, it is still unknown who and why he hid them there. Due to the location (an area where in the interwar period the border between Czechoslovakia and the Sudeten country ran) money and jewelry could belong to both the Czech, which after 1938 had to leave the occupied territory and the German, who after 1945 was afraid of displacement. The script is equally likely to assume that it can be about Jewish property.
The explanations of the mystery of the treasury are not facilitated by the fact that the coins found come from 1808-1915. Some of them in the Czech territory probably hit the Balkans, while others from France, Belgium or even Turkey.
At the turn of February and March, archaeologists from Hradca Kralove went to the place of discovery to see if there are any other items. Archaeologist Miroslav Novak told Czech media that “due to the nature of the find, it should be assumed that it was an exceptional situation and that nothing more would be discovered.”
The scientist also explained that the valuables were most likely hidden by their owners, because bracelets and snacks were used, and this means that they could not be stolen, for example, a jeweler.
According to the Czech law, the find is the property of local government authorities, which in the near future decide to pay found to men who have discovered. The prize can be up to 10 percent. the value of the “treasure”.
