Pope Leon XIV presented on Thursday to the world with all the elements of the papal outfit he had in the tear room, writes the Spanish press agency EFE.

After his choice as a new Sovereign Pontiff, American cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has accepted this mission, announced what pontifical names he wants to adopt and, according to tradition, moved to the Tear Hall, named because the new ones can escape tension through prayer and tears, notes Agerpres.

In that room there were three long white, or samples, of different sizes, depending on the height of the new Pope, as well as four short clothes, a purple mumzetta or a purple sto with gold decorations.

Leon XIV appeared on the balcony of St. Peter's basil, carrying the sutana, the short robe, Mozzetta and Stola Gold, as well as the cord and the cross, in a scene that reminded the appearance of Pope Benedict XVI in 2005.

The EFE remarks that, in 2013, Pope Francis chose to go out on the balcony of St. Peter's basil only in white and with the cross, without a pilgrim or strategy.

Robert Prevost became the first American pope in history.

The new Pontiff is 69 years old. Born in Chicago, this close collaborated of Pope Francis, discreet and reserved, has the Vatican government, the reputation of being a moderate capable of reconciling divergent points of view, AFP noted.
