There is no and will not be our consent to resign from compensation, which we deserve from Germany after World War II – emphasized on Friday former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki (PiS), commenting on the meeting of Prime Minister Donald Tusk with the new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. There is no consent to accept illegal immigrants – he added.

On Wednesday, the day after taking over, the new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz came to Warsaw, where he met with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. During a joint press conference, Merz, when asked about the issue of reparations, replied that she was “closed from a legal legal point of view” and – as he added – this does not mean that we will not talk about joint projects and common ideas.

B. Prime Minister, MP of Law and Justice, Mateusz Morawiecki on Friday, commenting on this issue, emphasized that “there is no and will not be our consent” to give up damages that we are entitled to after World War II.

“Is it Chancellor (former Chancellor Angela) Merkel or Chancellor (former Chancellor Olaf) Scholz or Chancellor Merz, Tusk behaves the same way. In fact, like the soft footrest of our western neighbors, instead of demanding compensation for World War II,” said Morawiecki.

The politician stated that the Polish authorities were “clearly hiding their arrangements with Germany.” As he said, in the German media on Thursday, clear information appeared, which shows, among others, that Merz with Tusk “during their meeting agreed to receive illegal immigrants back from Germany.”

According to Morawiecki, Prime Minister Tusk hides from the Polish nation the true content of his arrangements with the new German Chancellor and added that this is confirmed by today's entry on Platform X, published “a few hours ago” by Chancellor Merz, from which – as the MP said – there is a confirmation of what the German press published.

The German Chancellor wrote: “Germany does not take unilateral actions in terms of migration: we are currently controlling our borders more intensively. We will continue to reject refugees – all in accordance with European law, and our European neighbors are also aware of this.”

Morawiecki emphasized that in connection with the German announcement of exacerbation of control at the border, he demands that the Polish government to introduce the control of the border on Polish -German, because thanks to this we will not agree to “pushing illegal immigrants into Poland” – he argued (PAP)
