The electric locomotive of the Krasnoyarsk railway was called the name of the driver Veniamin Vilsky

The name of the famous driver – a participant in the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary Railway Worker Veniamin Vilsky was awarded to the passenger locomotive of the Krasnoyarsk highway – EP1 electric locomotive.

The decision to perpetuate his memory – a tribute to deep respect for the courage and heroism of the veteran, noted in Krasn. The solemn ceremony was held in Krasnoyarsk-in the operational locomotive depot Krasnoyarsk, the main to the memorial to Frontoviki driver. It was attended by depot leaders, workers and veterans.

By tradition, the name assigned to the locomotive is placed on board. The Veniamin Vilsky electric locomotive will run along the Krasni on the Trans -Siberian Party section from Mariinsk to Taishet, according to which Veniamin Willya drove the trains for almost 30 years.

He received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for a feat committed in January 1945 during an offensive operation to force the Oder. Returning from the front, in a difficult post -war period, Veniamin Vilsky came to the Krasnoyarsk highway, where he worked for the rest of his life – from 1951 to 1978, having traveled from the stoker of the steam locomotive to an experienced electric locomotive driver.

In 2010, a memorial plaque was installed on the building of the operational locomotive depot of Krasnoyarsk in memory of the Veniamine Vilsky veteran.

During the Great Patriotic War, about 16 thousand employees of the Krasnoyarsk highway went to the front. 22 railway workers received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
