Employees of Norilsk Nickel reached the final of the International Prize “Talented Women in the Modern Industry”

Moscow summed up the results of the International Prize “Talented Women in the Modern Industry”, which is held as part of the project of the Eurasian Women's Forum. The purpose of the award is to note women leaders, active public and charitable figures, as well as those who make a significant contribution to the development of industrial industries.

The chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum, Senator Galina Karelova, during a press conference in TASS, noted that this year a large number of women showed interest in the competition. The organizing committee received 750 applications that 20% more than last year and 2.5 times more than in the first year of the competition. Participants represent 85 companies in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, India, Brazil, Africa countries. 130 professionals from mining, metallurgical, petrochemical, processing and other adjacent industries reached the final of the competition.

“For many women, participation and victory in the competition played the role of a career elevator. And their stories become a very effective example for others, ”said Galina Karelova.

The senator emphasized that the award not only opens new names, but allows us to draw women's attention to the fact that work in industrial enterprises has changed a lot. Previously, it was hard physical labor, but now the work has become more technological.

One of the founders of the award is the Norkel mining and metallurgical company. This year 28 nominees – 11 men (they are presented in the nominations “For contribution to the development of female leadership”) and 17 women got into the final. The vice president of the company Daria Kryachkova explained that now there are more than 25 thousand women among specialists. Among them are a third of the board of directors, more than half of Norilsk Nickel specialists and 20% of the leadership.

“We understood that production has long changed and became technological, and stereotypes, including in the eyes of women, remain the same. And then we decided that the same examples are important, beautiful stories of career trajectories, because it instructs other women, opens up the possibilities of working in the industry, ”said Daria Kryachkova, vice president of Norilsk Nickel.

Prize events will not be limited to the award ceremony. On October 10, a forum will be held dedicated to the exchange of professional experience and self -development issues. And on October 9, a special excursion to the Federation Council will be organized for some finalists.
