The mayor of Buzau, Constantin Toma, harshly criticizes the PSD leadership and the election strategy of the party. He says that Marcel Ciolacu should have resigned in November last year, after the then presidential election, in which case the Coalition candidate, Crin Antonescu, would have another score on Sunday, reports News.ro.

The mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, launched, on Tuesday, a series of direct accusations against the PSD leadership, especially of the leader Marcel Ciolacu, who has repeatedly claimed and now accuses the poor management of the elections, the wrong political decisions and the promotion of controversial figures in the party.

In a statement held in front of the local press at the end of an extraordinary meeting of the Buzau Local Council, Toma spoke about the lack of reform in the PSD and requested a deep restructuring of the political formation.

“Things after these elections will be bad, probably for everyone or most people and reform measures must be taken in the party and at the Government level, in the sense that the reforms needed for this country begin,” said Toma.

Constantin Toma said that the moment chosen by Marcel Ciolacu to give up the position of prime minister is not due to his intervention on Monday and said that the prime minister should have left after the results of last year's presidential elections.

However, Constantin Toma said he had no discussion with the party leaders after the elections, except for a dry exchange of messages with Senator Lucian Romaşcanu.

“I did not discuss after the elections with Mr. Ciolacu, I did not call him, nor did he call me. Lucian Romaşcanu gave me a message, I sent him a lot of health. He said I disappointed him, but he also disappointed me so we all left,” added Toma.

Another criticism brought by Toma to Marcel Ciolacu is the ascension of former Prime Minister Victor Ponta in the PSD. “This idea of raising Victor Ponta at the level in which you bring him, you make him a personal counselor, you make him a deputy, you make the president of the Economic Commission in the Chamber of Deputies … It seems to me …
