Political science professor Cristian Preda commented on Monday the results registered in the first round of the presidential elections and believes that one of the candidates who missed the entrance to the second round will play “probably” the role of “arbitrator” in the May 18.

“The referee of the final will probably be Victor Ponta, the former social-democratic prime minister who converted to Trumpism. It is predictable for him to attack the PSD boss chair, or to make a new left party, because it is obvious that Prime Minister Ciolacu is completely discredited, after ranking in third place in November, and now he was not a presidential. Pessimist.

The first round of the presidential elections was won by George Simion, the leader and the gold candidate, with over 3.86 million votes. In the second round, the independent Nicușor Dan, the general mayor of the capital, who obtained almost 1.98 million votes.

“The representative of the sovereigns managed to recover the whole basin of Călin Georgescu and even to pass over: their cumulative score was 38.5% in November, and now the chief of Gold has taken 41 percent. He will face Nicușor Dan, who gathered more than a percentage and a half”.
