The new personal plan introduced by Microsoft enables employees who do not meet the company's expectations, the possibility of going on comfortable conditions. People who are covered by it can choose to improve performance or accept a “global contract voluntary termination of employment”.

Employees have a choice?

According to Amy Coleman, director of human resources Microsoft, cited by Business Insider, the introduced “process of improving results is available throughout the year, which allows you to quickly and clearly solve performance problems, while giving employees a choice”.

According to the company's internal document, the payment for employees will be the equivalent of a 16-week salary. Employed people have five days to make a decision which option they choose.

The will of programmers

The new plan may function slightly differently outside the US. This is due to the differences in legal provisions in other countries.

At the beginning of this year, the concern released 2,000 employees considered inefficient, without paying them severance pay. In some departments of the company, subsequent such cuts are considered, especially in the case of mid -level managers. However, it is planned to increase the participation of programmers in projects, at the expense of employees with other competences.
