Owners of optics salons complained to the Federal Antimonopoly Service on Demiding from the outside marketplaces. Because of this, sales of lenses in stores are falling.
With a letter of the optical association uniting manufacturers, distributors and sellers of medical optics (“Happy View”, “Linzmaster” and others), “Vedomosti” became acquainted. She asks the FAS “give an assessment of the legality of the actions of marketplaces” to reduce prices for goods to a “level below the market”. The department confirmed the receipt of the letter.
According to the Association, marketplaces use “anti -competitive practices” and form the “product market at artificially low prices”. The size of the discount at the expense of the site is from 20 % to 30 %.
This leads to the “peremp” of buyers on the online platform and a drop in retail sales. As a result, more than 35 % of sales of contact lenses, which reached 30 billion rubles a year, fell on Ozon and Wildberries. And in natural terms, the site sold more than 50 % of all packages. At the same time, marketplaces continue to increase the share of “direct sales” of contact lenses: from July 2024 to March 2025 it increased from 30.3 to 55.3 %. Because of this, optics are forced to reduce the range and jobs.
In Wildberries, the FAS complaint is considered unreasonable. The site uses discounts from the marketplace, they are sponsored from the company's funds. They talk about the same mechanism in Ozon. In Yandex Market, they did not respond to a request.
