Funeriu: I think that from a candidate it would be a sign of maximum arrogance to say what he would like except himself. I think I participated in this campaign with what I thought was the best I can offer to people and I think we need to let people vote according to their soul and consciousness, and their minds. I believe, first of all, that the most important thing is the credibility and honorability of each one.
Terheș: I would like this debate to be decisive, both about those who will enter tour 2, but also an x-ray of the Romanian society. A vote offered to a candidate in whom you do not believe is a wasteful vote. We are in this race 11 candidates. I invite the Romanians, obviously, if I like me, to vote on me, but to analyze each candidate. If the elections are correct, the Romanian society will be healthier and more united. We still have an open wound after the canceled choices.
Banu: I hope to do well tonight, to present myself in front of the voters, to know why I came here, to give them an opportunity to change something in Romania. This is my style, to express my ideas, personality, in an open way, because I am not a follower of cheap populism, of the hiding place. Ponta talks too much about how he shakes Trump and doesn't give. Trump stays 30 kilometers from my house. I would say he has a populism and I do not want to criticize him, but he should know that he does not apply for the position of prime minister. Nicușor Dan was upset yesterday with certain statements.
The first presidential debate took place on Monday evening, at the Cotroceni Palace, and was organized by Digi 24. Also at the residence of the future president was organized the second electoral confrontation, on Tuesday evening, by TVR.
The third debate in this presidential campaign will participate: Nicușor Dan, Crin Antonescu, Elena Lasconi, John-Ion Banu-Muscel, Daniel Funeriu, Lavinia Șandru and Cristian Terheș.
The great absentees are the gold leader, George Simion, who was not at any of the electoral debates, and Victor Ponta, present only at one of the three debates. Silviu Predoiu, the candidate of the League of National Action (Plan), and Sebastian Popescu will be missing.
Victor Ponta said that the first reason he will not be in the studio in Antena 3 is that: “I am not interested in their cafits. At CNN, I saw last night. We were at the debate and Mr. Gâdea was arguing with me at Antena 3 and Eugen Teodorovici.”
On Tuesday night, during the TVR debate, Victor Ponta had an exchange of replies with journalist Sabina Iosub from Antena 3 CNN, following a question asked by it.
