The Moscow Ministry of Transport is preparing to modify the legislation to create a database in order to identify and locate all the drones present in the country, Vedomosti publication, Cites EFE and AGERPRES.

According to sources in the Russian media, the Ministry of Transport prepares changes in the case of two laws regarding the identification, registration and regulations for drones with weight between 0.15 and 30 kilograms, which would enter into force starting March 1, 2026.

The owners of unanswered air vehicles will have to register in the database and pay 560 rubles monthly ($ 7) for the communication costs between the platform and its drone with its location with a data transmission frequency once per second.

Federal, regional organs, emergency services and organizations that perform public functions for the protection against illegal drone use will be exempt from payment.

The monitoring of the drones will be done with the help of the global satellite navigation system (Glonass), the equivalent of the American GPS.

This proposal has been elaborated since January, when President Vladimir Putin asked to accelerate the development of a normative framework for the identification of drones, says the Russian newspaper.

In his first meeting with President Putin, the new Minister of Transport, Andrei Nikitin, discussed the progress made in the case of this project.

“It is necessary to allocate an identification number to meet the owner, where the vehicle is directed and under what conditions,” he said.

Ukraine uses more and more drones to bomb and pursue strategic goals on Russia. On Monday, three people died from Ukraine's drones against Tula and Novgorod regions, according to local authorities.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that it has dropped over 150 Drones from Sunday until Monday.
