It happens that I want something special for tea, but all the sweets and cookies have already bored. Then try something completely new. This dessert will surprise you with its simplicity and its taste. We are talking about crispy cubes of bread in sweet caramel. They are a wonderful alternative to shopping snacks.

Ingredients:

  • White bread (300 g)
  • Sugar (150 g)
  • Drinking water (30 ml)
  • Butter (30 g)

Preparation:

Cut white bread into small cubes. It is better to use yesterday – it will be better to keep shape. We spread the cubes on the baking sheet and dry in the oven until golden. In the meantime, melt sugar with a small amount of water in a pot with a thick bottom. Add a little butter. Cook until cooked, constantly stirring. Now quickly pour out the dried bread cubes into caramel so that each piece is covered with sweet icing. Finally, put the “popcorn” on parchment paper and let it cool.
