“Such a benefit is granted as a permanent pension if the doctor's appraiser or medical committee of the cash register declares that the total inability of the insured to work on a farm is permanent and no purposefulness of professional retraining has been ordered” – explained the director of the KRUS benefits office Iwona Kaszuba.

People up to 30 years of age also receive a pension. According to KRUS data, 343 young people received a benefit for incapacity for work at the end of December 2024, and there were 331 a year earlier.

Kaszuba pointed out that persons authorized to an agricultural pension due to incapacity for work may achieve additional income without losing the right to benefit – e.g. under an employment contract, mandate contract or a contract for specific work. In other cases, agricultural pension due to incapacity for work is granted as a periodic pension, granted for the period indicated in the decision.

So -called The complementary part of the pension may be suspended or reduced if the pensioner generates income from activities subject to social insurance when he exceeds the permissible amounts. They are calculated from the average monthly salary announced by the President of the Central Statistical Office for a given calendar quarter.

The amounts change occurs in the third month of each quarter. The average monthly salary in the fourth quarter of 2024 amounted to 8,000 PLN 477.21.

The suspension or reduction of the payment of agricultural pension due to incapacity for work applies only to the supplementary part of such benefits – emphasized the head of the KRUS benefits office.
