US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that Russia's failure to occupy the entire territory of Ukraine would actually equate to a “big concession” made by Moscow, The Independent reports.

Trump insisted that he was pressing strong pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, when reporters asked him what would ask the Russian leader in exchange for massive territorial concessions he asked for Ukraine as a way to end the war.
Trump replied: “To stop the war, to stop from conquering the whole country.”
He added that the fact that Russia did not put his hand on all Ukraine – the goal that Putin proposed when he launched the war in February 2022 and which was dismantled by Ukraine's military resistance – is “quite high concession” in his opinion.
Trump seems to not recognize that the reason for Russia has failed to conquer Ukraine is not because Moscow has generously refused a total occupation, but because the Ukrainian forces have prevented Russian troops from making most of the country.
Asked if his administration is putting pressure on Russia to accept the terms of a US -proposed peace agreement, Trump replied: “I put a lot of pressure. You don't know how much pressure I put. They negotiate. You have no idea what pressure I put on Russia. We put a lot of pressure … Russia knows this, as some people know who are involved closely, otherwise he would not discuss now. “
His statement came just a few hours after he issued a rare criticism of Putin after Moscow effectively the bloodiest air attack on last year, killing at least 12 people.
In a post, on Thursday on the SA TRUTH Social network, Trump said that he “is not satisfied” by the Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital, which took place less than 24 hours after accusing Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski that through his statements he obstructs the efforts to end the war.
The attack was described by the Ministry of Ukrainian Defense as a “massive” – attacks with “cruise missiles, drones [și] ballistic weapons “in what the ministry has called” another blow to peaceful cities and Ukrainian houses. ” Zelenski, who was in South Africa when the attack took place, said it is “extremely important for everyone to see and understand what is really happening” in his country.
Trump said that the Russian attack on the capital of Ukraine “is not necessary” and criticized the “very bad moment” of the attack, which Ukrainian officials say he has hurt 90 people.
Then urged the Russian leader to stop the attacks and come to the negotiation table: “Vladimir, stop! 5,000 soldiers a week die. Let's conclude the peace agreement!”
While greeted the Prime Minister of Norway on Thursday afternoon visiting the White House, the president was asked if he believes that Putin will listen to his call to stop Ukraine. Trump replied, “Yes.”
When asked how long it would take until a peace agreement, Trump replied that he had set his own deadline for discussions.
“We want to be fast … and I think everyone … from NATO, they want to see that it happens. So we have a deadline, and then we will have a very different attitude. But I think there is a very good chance to end it,” he said.
Trump was asked about his decision to directly address Putin in his post on Social Truth and if he is an indicator of frustration towards the Russian leader. He replied: “I didn't like it last night. I was not satisfied with it, we are in the middle of a discussion about peace and rockets were drawn … I was not satisfied with it.”
Asked if he will consider additional sanctions against Moscow, Trump has not explicitly excluded this, but said he wants to give time to reach a peace agreement.
“I prefer to answer this question in a week. I want to see if we can have an understanding”he said before adding that otherwise “will not be happy” and that “things will happen” if there is no agreement in this range,
