The Ministry of Transport of Bulgaria has signed a contract with Alstom for the delivery of 35 electric trains Coradia Stream. These are the first interregional electric frames that the neighboring country buys over the past 20 years. Alstom has to deliver 37 trains in Romania, but there are very large delays and only one travels with passengers.

From the total value of the contract with the Bulgarian state, 452 million euros represent the manufacture of electric trains. Each gasket has six wagons, 320 seats and a maximum speed of 160 km/h. They are the first electric trains that Bulgaria buys from Alstom and will be used for maximum five -hour travelers.

The acquisition of 12 of the trains will be financed through the Bulgarian PNR, and the rest, by a so-called “social plan for climate”, writes the publication seenews.com.

The Minister of Transport of Bulgaria, quoted by the publication of Sofia Globe, says that the first 12 trains will arrive until August 2026.
