Mirabela Grădinaru was invited to the USA by the first lady of America, Melania Trump. The life partner of the president Nicușor Dan will participate, together with representatives of 45 countries, at “Global Coalition Summit – Building the Future Together”which will take place in Washington for two days.

The Presidential Administration announces the participation of an official delegation in Washington DC, on March 24-25, 2026, at the inaugural summit of a global coalition dedicated to the digital education of children, organized at the initiative of the first lady of the United States.

The participation of the Romanian delegation takes place at the invitation addressed by the first lady of the USA, Melania Trump, to Mirabelei Grădinaru, as part of an international effort to which other first ladies from several countries were also invited.

The delegation is made up of Vlad Ionescu, state councilor for foreign policy, Diana Punga, state councilor for relations with civil society, and Mirabela Grădinaru.

The summit, titled “Preparing the future together”promotes international cooperation to increase the well-being of children through education, innovation and technology. The initiative aims to provide access to modern tools, including solutions based on artificial intelligence, to support students, teachers and parents, as well as to strengthen online safety.

The agenda includes a working session at the US State Department (March 24) and a high-level meeting at the White House (March 25), with the participation of the First Ladies and representatives of the states involved, focused on digital education, the use of technology and the protection of children online.

As part of the visit, the delegation will have a meeting with Lisa Choate, the president of the American Councils for International Education, an organization that runs educational exchange programs with Romania, namely FLEX and FLEX Abroad, as well as professional development initiatives for the public and private sectors, according to Gândul.

At the national level, Mirabela Grădinaru promoted the project “Romania in the light”ever since Nicușor Dan took over the mandate of president. It is about a social project designed to bring to public attention topics such as health, education, the well-being of children, young people, women and vulnerable categories, a project undertaken by the Presidential Administration. The first event already took place last November, under the patronage of Mirabela Grădinaru.

Nicușor Dan's partner will leave for the USA on Monday, March 23, and will attend Melania Trump's event for two days.
