The Kremlin, through the Russian MAE, accuses the Moldovan authorities that “a discriminatory policy continues towards the Russian citizens entering the Republic of Moldova.”
“Upon arrival at Chisinau airport, Russian passport holders are often subjected to thorough and humiliating controls, which may take several hours. During these checks, Russian citizens, including children, are not offered basic conditions, such as access to water, food and the possibility to communicate with the outside. After these checks, citizens are often refused to enter the country, under invented pretexts or without explanations. Every day, the Moldovan authorities refuse the entry of several dozen Russian citizens ”, Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) is shown in the press release.
Rus representatives also claim that “The possibilities for granting the consular assistance from the Russian Embassy in Chisinau in such situations are seriously limited, because the Moldovan authorities refuse to access the representatives of the Embassy to Russian citizens. In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is insistently recommended for Russian citizens to consider these risks when planning their travelers to the Republic of Moldova ”.
The officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau have not yet offered a point of view in this case.
