The sale of rosaries brought from the Vatican was reviewed by “Fakt”. Advertisements arrived after the death of Pope Francis, and high prices pay attention. Here are some offers.
“Saint John Paul II offered this type of rosaries in audiences or apostolic travels. I have the current rosary from a private papal magazine in the Vatican. Dedicated by Pope Francis” – we read in the offer. Price? PLN 999.
In the next advertisement you can read: “Rosary with the image of the Mother of God and the papal coat of arms of Pope Francis five years ago in the audience in St. Peter's Square dedicated to him personally.” The price is PLN 777.
The offers also include “a new, unused papal rosary from Francis from World Youth Day 2016”. It costs PLN 449.
“VIP rosaries of three popes, unique, are intended by popes for VIP guests of bishops and cardinals. I recommend. Price PLN 5,000” – praises another seller (original spelling).
It is worth approaching such offers from a distance. It is not known to what extent are the declarations of sellers regarding the origin and history of the items offered.
The death and funeral of Pope Francis
Pope Francis died on April 21 on Easter Monday at the age of 88. As the director of the Vatican health service said in an official medical communication, the cause of death was stroke, coma and irreversible cardiological collapse.
The funeral of Pope Francis will take place on Saturday, April 26. President Andrzej Duda and his wife announced his participation in the ceremony. A national mourning was announced in Poland that day.
