The European Economic Congress in Katowice begins

Three -day 17. The European Economic Congress (ECG) will start on Wednesday morning in Katowice. The slogan of this year's edition of the event is “Together for the safe future/ United for a Safe Future”. The leitmotif are security and transformation issues.


Participants of the first plenary session “Security and Economy” will be, among others: industry minister Marzena Czarnecka, former prime minister, former chairman of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, president of Orlen and PGE, as well as bosses of private business.
The main thematic currents of the ECG in 2025 are broadly understood security, competitiveness of the European economy, green transformation, geopolitics and its impact on business, investments and development, as well as digitization and new technologies – in the context of the Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union.
The initiator and organizer of the Congress, President of the PTWP Group Wojciech Kuśpik emphasizes that the patronage of the Polish presidency gives ECG an additional rank and context, and the scope of topics involves, among others with widening of the congress space. As every year, the organizers invited participants to the Katowice International Congress Center, but also to the Spodek combined with him, in which the inauguration of the event was planned, some sessions, galas and concerts.
At the inauguration of the Katowice Congress, they have a business postulates: deregulation and more free market, affordable energy prices and priorities for investments, innovation, technology.
The inaugural session is also to concern industry mobilization in Europe, the use of European technologies, European defense and military potential. Europe's reactions to a new situation in the world and trade barriers, as well as investment financing are to be considered.
After the inauguration of ECG, it is planned, among others Opening of the conference of the Ministry of Industry as part of the Polish presidency. The opening session is to be devoted to the energy safety of Europe, and subsequent panels, among others: security and development, fair transformation and the future of mining and industrial regions. Part of the conference is to be the presentation of the assumptions of the White Book of Transformation.
Representatives of the Polish government on the ECG are to include: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski, Minister of State Asset Jakub Jaworowski, Minister of Industry Marzena Czarnecka, Minister of Science and Higher Education Marcin Kulasek, Minister for European Affairs Adam Szłapka, as well as numerous Deputy Ministers.
Representatives of companies and institutions will take part in congress sessions. One of the axes of the program will be a series of meetings aimed at strengthening Poland's economic and commercial relationships with other countries. Particularly represented in Katowice are to be: Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates.
EEC TALKS will take place for the second time – talks with economists, politicians, diplomats, as well as representatives of business, culture and social life, conducted on an open stage. During the 17th ECG, subsequent editions of the competitions will also be resolved: EEC Startup Challenge, TOP Municipal Investments, an investor without borders or the manager of the 2024 of the Śląskie Voivodeship.
