Elon Musk is preparing to leave the Trump administration because he “tired of attacks”

The head of the Department for the efficiency of the Government (Doge) Elon Musk, whose status as a special official expires in May, is ready to leave the Donald Trump administration because he has been tired of “unpleasant and ethical attacks” on the part of the political left. However, he believes that this will not change the influence of his creation, because Doge employees are already working in many federal agencies, writes The Washington Post, citing sources.

“No one can say that Doge was not a historical success. The results speak for themselves”says a high official of the Trump administration, who calls Doge an example of the mode of rapid remodeling of a heavy bureaucracy.

But the miliarad is unhappy. When Musk sent letters to civil servants asking them to say “five things you did this week”, many simply ignored the directive, even if the billionaire threatened to dismiss them. According to journalists, at a briefing for senior officers in the US Government Human Resources Department, the heads of the Office for Personnel Management (OPM) said that the Directive is voluntary and the requirements will not be considered a resignation.

The OPM leaders also said that the agency does not intend to do anything about the messages sent by the employees. Against the background of the expected departure of the billionaire and the weakening of his influence, the contradictory messages and the confusion had a predictable result. Currently, US federal agencies have inconsistent policies on answers to Doge emails and more and more people refuse to answer.

For example, at the USDA, the staff was initially trained not to respond to an email, but then the management said they should think about the answer and sent more suggestions for messages. One week afterwards, employees were told to send an answer, but the messages were not called mandatory.

For this reason, many employees decided not to answer, and some even started writing in Russian. That's how they wanted to confuse a person or artificial intelligence that would check the letter.

“I have not sent at all (letters). I don't think I have to justify my work of an unknown organization, especially when I deal with private customer information”says an employee of the ministry who has not yet suffered any consequence.

Meanwhile, at the Florida Veterans Business Office, on the contrary, an employee says that the management warned her that the failure will cost her. Now he constantly writes reports to keep his job.
