Over 1.2 thousand Bee families were killed in Lower Silesia as a result of last year's flood – the voivodship board informed on Tuesday. Pasiek owners estimated losses at PLN 2.5 million. The new regulation allows them to apply for compensation.

Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodship Paweł Gancarz reminded during the Tuesday press conference that during last year's flood, many social and professional groups suffered a loss, including those whose specificity prevents them from becoming their simple grade in the context of granting compensation for the loss caused by the flood.

“Such a group are beekeepers; they are not always entrepreneurs and are not always farmers, and therefore they did not always fit into the help that was available after the flood,” said Gancarz.

He added that thanks to the intervention of local government, the problem of beekeepers was noticed in the agricultural ministry, which will place this group in the new regulation on compensation of losses in agriculture.

Natalia Gołąb from the Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodship presented the estimates of the Lost Loss; They show that as a result of the September cataclysm In Lower Silesia, about 1.2 thousand bee families. “The total amount of losses – taking into account bees, honey, equipment and apiaries, was estimated at around PLN 2.5 million” – she said.

She reminded that the ordinance adopted by the Council of Ministers included, among others compensation for lost bee families, food for these insects or losses in equipment.

Deputy Voivode of Lower Silesia Artur Jurkowski announced that the losses in agriculture arising in Lower Silesia as a result of last year's flood were estimated at PLN 88 million. “The regulation was saved by PLN 250 million to cover the population losses in agriculture. This amount is to cover the losses that occurred in all voivodships affected by the flood” – reminded Jurkowski. (PAP)
