Mangione responds to both state and federal allegations related to the murder of Brian Thompson at the New York Manhattan, which occurred on December 4.
Federal prosecutors presented allegations against Mangione at the end of last year. Earlier, before the State Court, Mangione did not plead guilty of murder and terrorism. Only now he has been formally accused in a federal court.
The Department of Justice wants the death penalty
If he is found guilty, the federal allegation regarding the murder with the use of firearms involves maximum death penalty. Prosecutor General Pam Bondi announced that the Justice Department would demand the highest sentence.
