French President Emmanuel Macron revealed the details of a platform meant to attract scientists in Europe and France, an initiative intended primarily to American researchers dissatisfied with President Donald Trump's policies.
“Here, in France, research is a priority, innovation a culture, science a horizon without limits. Researchers from all over the world, choose France, we see you on May 5,” wrote the French president on the X network.
In this message, he also included the address of a website presenting the “Choose France for Science” platform, through which the country “is committed to opposing attacks on academic freedom throughout the world”.
Here in France, Research is a Priority, Innovation is a culture, and science is a Boundless Horizon. Researches from Around the World, Choose France, Choose Europe! See you on May 5.

“At a time when the international context creates the conditions for an unprecedented wave of mobility among researchers around the world, France aims to position themselves as a host country for those who want to continue their activity in Europe, based on the ecosystem and research infrastructures of our country,” the measure shows.
By “choosing France for science”, universities, schools and research organizations in the country will be able to request state funds for the financing of 50 % of the costs of hosting talents from abroad.
It will bring benefits in particular to sectors such as health, climate, biodiversity, durability, digital environment, artificial intelligence, space, agriculture, sustainable nutrition, forests and natural resources.
Details about French organizations specialized in these fields are available on the same site, so that scientists interested can contact them and be selected.
Regarding the meeting of May 5 that Macron mentions in his message on social networks, this is, according to the local press, a call to a great meeting with the scientific community that the French president will lead that day.
