The Court of Appeal gives justice to Elena Lasconi: remains the president of the party and the official candidate of the USR at the elections
The Bucharest Court of Appeal annulled on Thursday, April 17, a series of decisions adopted by the USR National Bureau, by which Elena Lasconi was withdrawn from political support and was blocked access to campaign funds. Thus, Lasconi remains the president of the party and the official candidate of the USR at the presidential elections. “It means I have to have access to money, it was Elena Lasconi's reaction.”

“It rejects the exception of the inadmissibility of the action for the non -pregnancy of the internal procedure, invoked by the defendant USR, as unfounded. Admits the appeal. It annuls the decisions no. 124/09.04.2025, 125/11.04.2025 and 127/14.04.2025. Dismisses the request for annulment of the decision no. 126/11.2025, unfounded. It is mentioned in the solution of the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
The decision can be appealed within five days, which is submitted to the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Also, the decision was immediately communicated to the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
Elena Lasconi asked the court to find that only the USR Congress has the authority to change or revoke the party president and that political and legal decisions can only be assumed by the elected president. He also asked to find the nullity of the steps made by the National Bureau on behalf of the party, including the appeal filed against the BEC decision.
Previously, the Bucharest Court of Appeal maintained the BEC decision stating that the USR cannot make an election campaign for Nicușor Dan.
Recently, USR has received a ban on CNA and BEC to organize an election campaign for Nicușor Dan, after the party withdrew for Elena Lasconi. The Bucharest Court of Appeal maintained the BEC decision.
