Zelenogorsk ECHZ celebrates the anniversary of the line for processing gas centrifugs / News of the Society of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.ru

The lines of chemical-termic elimination and processing of the exhaust gas centrifuges (HC) of the Zelenogorsk electrochemical plant turned 45 years old. The beginning of its industrial operation in 1980 was a real breakthrough in the field of environmentally friendly saving nuclear waste.

The launch of the line took place during the first modernization of centrifugal equipment, when the enterprise had the task of disposed of thousands of worked gas centrifuges. The innovative approach developed by ECH specialists made it possible to reduce the share of manual labor by 10 times thanks to the use of special furnaces with various temperature zones.

First, organic materials are burned, then metals with a lower melting point are smelted, etc. The zone swimming allowed to automate the process of separating materials, facilitated their further utilization and processing.

For a contribution to the development of technology in 1984, the ECHI specialists group received the USSR Council Prize. The successful method was later used in the Ural electrochemical plant. Today in Russia only two areas of disposal of the Hz – on ECHZ and UECC.

Today, the automated line continues to play a key role in ensuring the safety and environmental friendliness of the processes of gas centrifuges. Thanks to unique technologies, the metal obtained after processing is thoroughly cleaned and complies with high quality standards. All materials are returned to the production cycle, providing practically non -waste production.

The line is served by highly qualified personnel with deep knowledge and experience. The ideas laid down by ECP experts decades ago, and today make it possible to successfully solve not only intra -factory tasks, but also execute contracts concluded with other enterprises.
