TVN24 presenter stopped by the CBA heard the allegations

Participation in an organized group, which committed tax, economic and against the justice, was accused by the Wrocław prosecutor's office to the presenter of TVN24 Mateusz W. Earlier investigators did not inform about what the suspicious is W.

The journalist was detained by the CBA on Friday last week. W. is a suspect in the investigation conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław. In the same proceedings, the former Police Commander -in -Chief Zbigniew M. heard allegations and a former member of the management board of Orlen Protection Rafał P.

On Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław, Prosecutor Karolina Stocka-Mycek, said that Mateusz W. investigators brought five charges. Earlier, the prosecutor's office did not inform about what the suspect is of W.

The journalist was accused of participating in an organized criminal group in the period from November 2023 to October 2024. The group was to deal with tax, economic and justice crimes. It comes, among others for “obstructing the conduct of law enforcement authorities by providing support to perpetrators of crime, including aimed at removing the prosecutor from conducting the investigation,” said a spokeswoman for the Wrocław prosecutor's office.

Prok. Stocka-Mycek informed that W. did not plead guilty and had explained.

The investigation in which the suspect is W. was initiated after notifying the Head of the West Pomeranian Customs and Tax Office in Szczecin of February 10, 2023.

“Initially, it concerned the use by persons representing the PP company, with invoices certifying untruth (…) The scope of the investigation was extended to include a number of other acts and currently includes about 100 business entities” – said a spokeswoman for the Wrocław prosecutor's office.

W. by decision the court was arrested for three months on Sunday.

The TVN press office announced that the journalist – in connection with the accusation of him – was immediately suspended in his duties until the case was clarified.

At the end of March, the Wrocław court dismissed the complaint and maintained three months of temporary detention for the former police commander Zbigniew M., who is a suspect in the same investigation.

Prok. Stocka-Mycek had previously reported that the former police commander was charged with tax and economic offenses and influencing the course and obstruction of investigations. According to the prosecutor's office, he was to operate in an organized criminal group.

“The allegations concern actions in 2024 and included, among others, that Zbigniew M. revealed the details of the investigation or tried to make them difficult by demanding the appeal of the prosecutor's proceedings” – said the spokeswoman.

At the beginning of March, a former member of the management board of Orlen, Rafał P. (PAP), was arrested in this investigation.
