Five young people, sentenced to Russia with penalties between 12 and 18

A Russian military court has sentenced five young people accused of “sabotage” to the account of Ukrainian intelligence services by fire a rescue helicopter at Ostafievo Airport.

The five accused, including a young woman, are imputed that they set fire to the rescue helicopter, and a railway installation, in Moscow.
One of them would have been recruited by the Ukrainian services, who promised him money, then met the other defendants in his group on the Internet, according to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
Arrested in April 2024, the five were sentenced to sentences between 12 and a half and 18 years in prison on “”sabotage” and “terrorist act”, Announces the Russian state agency, writes News.

Four of the accused pleaded guilty, according to the independent Russian Mediazona site, quoted by AFP. However, the young woman said she was not aware of her friends' plans.
“My fault is that I am experienced, stupid and naive”She pleaded during the trial, asking the court not to deprive her of “life” and of “youth”.
The other members of the group, who pleaded guilty, denied any political motivation or opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. One of them said he just wanted to get “easy” for money.
According to Ria Novosti, Gur promised three million rubles (we equivalent to 32,500 euros), but only paid them about 100 euros. The Russian authorities have multiplied, from the invasion of Ukraine, in 2022, the arrests regarding “Espionage”, “betrayal”, “sabotage” or “extremism”, punished very harshly with imprisonment.
