NATO boss in Odessa: NATO support for Ukraine is unwavering

The Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte announced that on Tuesday with the President of Ukraine, Wołodylym Zelnski, he visited Odessa in the south of this country. “We will continue support for Ukrainians,” he declared.


“The Ukrainian nation suffered so much – even a Russian attack on Palm Sunday on sums,” wrote on the X NATO boss, referring to a Russian attack in which 35 civilians were killed.
“NATO support is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine so that it can defend itself today and deter aggression in the future, providing just and peace,” he added.
Zielnski informed the telegram in the communicator that he and NATO's head visited the hospital in which wounded Ukrainian defenders were treated. Leaders talked to the military, and Zelanski handed the soldiers and medics decorations.

Odessa is an important port city on the Black Sea. The Odaski District is not controlled by the Russian army, but from the beginning of the invasion it has been shelled and bombarded by Russian forces.
In the second half of March, the Russian daily “Kommiersant” wrote that Russian leader Vladimir Putin demands the recognition of the annexation of Ukrainian territories controlled by Moscow and threatens that otherwise Russia will choose Odessa.
Russia controls some of the Kherson and Zaporoski districts, but in the autumn of 2022 an annexation of the entire regions of these regions and the Donetsk and Lugansk region. Russia annexed Ukrainian Crimea in 2014. (PAP)
