Jan Smoleński is dead. He created a powerful company in the agro industry
According to the entry, Jan Smoleński died on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. “Thank you for every day we spent together, for the wisdom he passed on to us, and for the heart he put into every project and every relationship,” his colleagues add.

Jan Smoleński was a tycoon in the agro industry
Jan Smoleński and his wife Stefania founded the Ampol-Merol company in 1989. It is a Polish family company in the agro industry from Wąbrzeźno (Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship), which supports farms by providing products and services necessary for modern agricultural production. This includes: for the sale of seeds, fertilizers and plant protection products. As the company boasts on LinkedIn, it employs approximately 600 people.
According to the information on the company's website, in 2025, “Stefania and Jan Smoleńscy were honored with a congratulatory diploma from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski.” In 2025, the company they run took 92nd place in the ranking of the 200 largest Polish companies of the weekly “Wprost”. As of 2021, the company is managed by the next generation of their relatives.
