A contract was signed with Poland for the Camil project for EUR 52 million

During the third edition of the ESA Safety Conference, whose main topic was the role of space and innovative technologies in shaping European safety and competitiveness, Domański took an active part. During the event, an agreement was signed between ESA and the Polish company Creotech Instruments for the Camila project, whose value is almost EUR 52 million and which assumes the construction of the constellation of observation satellites.
The minister emphasized: “Thanks to close cooperation with ESA Polska, it dynamically develops technologies of strategic importance for national security. Our entrepreneurs, acquiring knowledge from ESA experts, cease to be dependent on imported technologies, which allows them to export the latest solutions also in the space sector.” Domański also noted that the Polish space sector currently brings together over 60 entities that develop, among others, thanks to Poland's constant contribution to ESA programs.

The minister expressed deep faith that in the coming decade Poland has a chance to become one of the main players on the European space stage. “The Camila project is only the first step in this fascinating journey. Europe needs strength, unity and technological sovereignty,” said Domański, expressing the hope that the European Union Member States will increase investments in this key area.
Domański also referred to the statement of his predecessor, former Italian prime minister Enrico Letta, author of the report on a uniform EU market, which argued that the development of space technologies and space exploration requires the search for financing outside traditional, public sources. Minister of MF emphasized that a dynamic and functioning capital market and developed investment culture are needed.

Europe must catch up and become independent of the USA
Earlier, Letta contrasted the situation in the United States and European, Noticing that in the last 15 years private investments in the space technology sector have grown rapidly in the US, while in Europe this approach is very conservative. The former Italian prime minister also pointed to the need to become independent of Europe from the USA. He emphasized that the alarming words of the head of SpaceX and representatives of the American Department of State performance about the possibility of excluding Starlink systems, which should become a warning and an impulse to increase Europe's technological independence.
At the ESA conference, among others The General Director of the Agency Josef Aschbacher and the Polish ESA design astronaut, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski. The former head of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen and the EU space defense and space Commissioner Andrius Kubilius also performed remotely.
The European Space Agency is an inter -state organization established for the implementation of a joint European research and use program.
