“I'm glad that this time we were able to coordinate and meet with His Excellency Michael Kratios, who has a major say in the US policy in the field of science and technology. We discussed the science organization systems in Romania and the US, presenting the new reorganization reform of the national research-development-innovation system, and I was pleased by the willingness of the American side to support us with experts“, said Minister Daniel David.

The existing collaborations between the ministry and the National Science Foundation were also discussed, with the intention of being expanded.
The minister also presented Romania's new strategic directions in the areas considered priority: artificial intelligence, energy – with an emphasis on hydrogen and nuclear energy technologies -, semiconductors and other relevant infrastructures, in which Romania relies on closer cooperation with American researchers and industry.
The two officials also addressed the role of research in the defense system, in the context of current international challenges, as well as the importance of strengthening scientific culture in modern society to combat pseudoscience.
