A very serious incident took place on Monday, March 14, in Iasi. A 57-year-old man brutally assaulted his ex-wife, then set on fire, just a week after being released from prison, where he had been punished for domestic violence.
The aggressor, with a violent past, had been convicted after, during the divorce, attacked the woman and seriously injured another man. He was pushed by jealousy, he followed Daniela, his ex-wife, and, when he surprised him in a local with his new partner, took her to beat and stabbed a client who tried to intervene.
After this incident, which took place two years ago, he was sentenced to prison, and was now released for “good behavior”.
In the morning of the attack, around 5 o'clock, Daniela, 47, was returning home after a night shift. He did not know that the former husband, Andrei Cosmin Beucă, was waiting in front of the block, prepared for attack. He hit her with a hammer until the woman collapsed to the ground, then set her fire and ran away from the scene.

After several hours of searching, the police from the Criminal Investigation Service Iași managed to find Andrei Cosmin Beucă not far from the place of attack.
