According to the daily Bild, the attacker came into conflict with a random pedestrian. After a quarrel, he followed the man to the platform of the Sophie-Charlotte-Platz metro station, where he pulled out a knife and dealt. The wound turned out to be fatal and the victim died on the spot.
The quick reaction of witnesses allowed the police to obtain an accurate description of the perpetrator. The officers found the suspect near the attack site.
According to “Bild”, when the police approached the man, he threatened them with a knife again. At that time, one of the officers fired – three of whom hit the attacker in the neck.
Investigation of the attack
The shot attacker was provided by paramedics and taken to hospital. The German diary reports that his condition is severe. The Berlin Craft Department is investigating this matter.
At the moment, there are no known reasons for arguments between men or motives that led to a tragic knife attack.
