On Wednesday, Donald Trump surprised everyone, announcing another increase in customs duties to goods from China, while suspending duties' increases to all other countries for a period of 90 days. American duties on Chinese goods are now to be 125 percent.

Donald Trump: China showed global markets for disrespect
“Considering the disrespect that China showed world markets, I hereby raise a tariff imposed on China by the United States of America to 125 percent, with immediate effect” – wrote the president in an entry on his social networking site Truth Social. He also noted that he hopes that “China will realize that the times in which they ripped off the US and other countries are no longer possible to maintain and accept.”
