The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense announced the interception of three missiles launched from Iran on Monday. The fourth fell into the sea. An air raid alert was announced in the UAE, the first since the ceasefire between the US and Iran entered into force on April 8.

The missiles were shot down over Emirati territorial waters, the ministry added.
A fire broke out at a petrochemical plant in the port city of Fujairah after a drone attack from Iran, local authorities reported.
Earlier, several short anti-aircraft alerts were announced in the UAE, and the Ministry of Defense announced that air defense was responding to the threat of a missile attack.
The UAE was one of the countries attacked by Iran with missiles and drones after the US and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran on February 28.
A ceasefire has been in force since April 8, and since then there has been no information about new Iranian strikes against the UAE. Iran also attacked Israel and other Persian Gulf countries, hitting both American military bases located there and civilian targets, including infrastructure related to oil and gas extraction.
Iranian attacks on the UAE have killed 13 people and injured 224 since April 8. The country's air defense had so far intercepted 537 Iranian ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,256 drones.
Iran has resumed attacks on our country, this is a serious escalation
The Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned Iran's renewed attacks on the country, warning that it was a serious escalation. The United Arab Emirates reported two waves of Iranian attacks on Monday. The impacts caused a fire in the oil infrastructure. These are the first such attacks in almost a month.
The UAE reserves the full right to respond to these “treacherous” attacks in accordance with international law, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi. Three Indian nationals were injured in the attack; they were taken to hospital.
After this attack, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil increased by over 5%, reaching approximately USD 115.
Iranian state television quoted an anonymous senior Iranian official as saying that “Iran was not planning strikes against the UAE.”
