The head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that Poland and the US are proven allies. He noted that the solidarity of Polish and American soldiers is “two -way”. “We declare loyalty as solidarity. Thank you for what we get, for this support. But we are also ready to give it support to allies,” said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
He reminded that Poland as an ally of the US proved “friendship, loyalty”. He recalled joint missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. And also the presence of about 10,000 US soldiers in Poland. “We are here on Polish soil, we are in many operations, missions that are needed for peace and security. Our cooperation is not for war, it is against the war” – noted the head of the Ministry of National Defense. “We must be strong enough, armed enough, we must invest in our safety, so that it never pays to attack us” – he added.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense noted that Poland is investing in modern military equipment produced in the USA. “This is about 60 billion purchases made in the United States by the armed forces of the Republic of Poland. We will continue this,” he announced.
General Curtis Taylor, responsible for the tactical land forces of the USA in Poland, during the ceremony in a deep complex, emphasized that this military center “is a clear proof of permanent commitment and alliance of the Polish-American”.
The construction of a new training and accommodation center, at the Drawsko training ground, was completed in 2024, it was financed from national funds and NATO Security Investment Program (NSIP). The center will reach full operational capacity in 2026.
“This is an honor that I can be with you when we raise the American flag on this new training facility, which was built by Poles for Americans. The deep complex is a clear proof of permanent commitment and permanent alliance, which we have with the Polish armed forces and Poles” – emphasized Taylor.
On behalf of American soldiers he expressed gratitude “for hospitality in Drawsko Pomorskie”. “Poland provided a support program that allows our formations to focus on the mission, and at the same time to be well nourished and had a place to live” – noted General Taylor. As he assessed, the deep complex is “ensuring lasting cooperation”. “We are proud that we can serve together with Polish allies,” said the general.
The event was also attended by the commander of the United States Garrison in Poland Col. Jesse Chace and the head of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate Brigadier General Dariusz Mendrala, honored by the Americans with the Army Community Partnership Award for 2024 “award.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that Poland was the first country to receive such a distinction, an expression of appreciation for effective and close cooperation, primarily in the area of logistics and development of military infrastructure. The deep complex is to continue this cooperation.
On Thursday, several dozen military vehicles were presented during the visit of the Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary Driscoll, including Abrams tanks, engineering equipment, Bradley armored transporters and Black Hawk and Apache helicopters.
