Włodzimierz Czarzasty at JSW. “We need to sit down at the negotiating table immediately”
It should be noted that the problems at JSW are not only a problem of the company itself, but also of the entire region. The Speaker of the Sejm spoke about it clearly.
— The situation is very difficult. We are dealing with a huge number of employees – nearly 23 thousand peoplea resource of coking coal, which is a strategic raw material for Poland and the whole of Europe, very poor management of the company recently, huge financial losses. Within a year and a half, several, and according to some estimates even PLN 5-6 billion, “evaporated”. – emphasized the politician during a meeting with miners, whose words are quoted by netg.pl.

The Marshal noted that “coking coal is a rare raw material on a European scale“, and given the changing geopolitical situation in the world, “we cannot afford for Poland to lose the ability to obtain this raw material on its own.”
Crisis at JSW. We need a solution for years, not for now
What does this mean for JSW and the miners working in the company? The Marshal of the Sejm did not present an idea for a solution. However, he announced that the current government would urgently address the problem.
— I didn't come here with ready-made recipes. This is my first visit to the field and I am just learning the scale of the problem, said Czarzasty, quoted by netg.pl.
— I see one thing very clearly. There is no time to postpone the decision any longer. We need to sit down at the negotiating table immediately – and in a large group – he said.

The Marshal noted that talks were ongoing. We are talking about negotiations led by the Minister of Energy, Marian Zmarzły. Czarzasty said that they are on the right track and we can expect a breakthrough in the JSW case soon. However, he also emphasized that this cannot be a temporary solution. We must look to the future.
“Agreement 'here and now' is not enough. We must think long-term – 10, 15, even 20 years ahead,” we read on netg.pl.
