The White House plans to hit the drones on drug cartels in Mexico

The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering conducting drone attacks on drug cartels in Mexico as part of activities aimed at combating drugs smuggling drugs through the southern border – NBC News said on Tuesday.

The American station refers to six current and former US army officers, law enforcement agencies and intelligence, familiar with the subject. According to them, discussions in this matter between the White House, Pentagon and Intelligence are still at an early stage.

This information was referred to by the President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum, who said that she categorically rejects all unilateral actions of the US Army in Mexico and that such military steps would “not solve anything”.

She added that the USA and Mexico are conducting a good dialogue on security issues, and does not think that the US take such unilateral actions.

According to NBC News, unilateral US actions, without the consent of Mexico, have not been excluded in Washington, but are taken into account as the final option.

The American station reports that now with the consent of the Mexican authorities, the American army and the CIA have significantly increased the number of observation flights over Mexico to collect intelligence information on the activities of drug cartels, which the White House considered a threat to national security.
