Nicușor Dan, an independent candidate for the Presidency of Romania, said, at Antena 3, that, in the event of his choice, he will try to outline a new government, but did not exclude the possibility that during the mandate he had to designate a PSD prime minister, even if he did not want this.

During the show, through a registration, Crin Antonescu asked Nicușor Dan what a parliamentary majority he sees in the absence of PSD, the candidate of the coalition invoking an older statement of the mayor of the capital, who said that the difference between them and Antonescu is that he does not like the PSD.

“Politics is not, of course, on pleasures, but on political options and for options for society (…) In recent years we have been dominated by PSD with all the countries it has produced. The fundamental difference is the desire to change the way politics has been made. He wants to continue the policy made by the PSD in recent years,”

Nicușor Dan said that the government installed after the parliamentary elections of 2024 did not differentiate from previous governments, a sign that there was no change of attitude of the governors towards the lesson administered by the electorate.

“They did not learn because the way they governed from December 1 to this day did not distinguish with the way they did it before. I said that Romania needs a stable government, with a parliamentary majority in the back, and the PSD cannot be missing. The question is how this government will act, and I say that it can not govern,” he said.

He said that his success in the presidential elections in front of the Coalition candidate would show that the PSD-PNL-UDMR government no longer has popular legitimacy, and this will affect its ability to govern efficiently.

“The new president must have a very serious discussion that outlines a future governance and can take a month, two or three months with two things: 1. What is the opinion of the Romanians and 2. what will happen over 3 and a half if we continue in the way they governed. I am convinced that there will be important changes in the way,”

Asked explicitly if he excludes that, during his term, he would designate a social-democratic prime minister, Nicușor Dan replied: “I do not want, but I do not exclude.”
