Free days 2025. When the Easter mini -vacation lasts and how long

Romanians enter the Easter mini -vacation from Friday, April 18, and return to work on Tuesday, April 22. This year, both Orthodox and Catholic Easter are celebrated at the same time – Sunday, April 20.
The last time the Orthodox Easter dropped the same day as the Catholic Easter was in 2017, while last year there were five weeks between the two Easter holidays (March 31 and May 5). 2028 will be the next year in which the Catholic and Orthodox Easter will fall on the same day and the same will happen in 2031.
Easter can fall faster on April 4 and at the latest on May 8. In the last 20 years, Easter has fallen 16 times in April and four times in May. Last year it was a special one because Easter dropped late on May 5.
The legal free days will be April 18 (Good Friday) and April 21 (the second Easter day).
Last year, the budget received six days free of Easter, as the holiday fell in the same week with May 1, day off by law.
In 2025, 1 more than two weeks after Easter, on a Thursday, and the government decided that the budget will be free on Friday, May 2, to make bridge with the weekend 3-4 May.

In 2025, Romanians have 17 legal free days, of which 13 during the week. After Easter, the free days for the budget remain:

June 8 – 9 (Sunday and Monday) – Pentecost
August 15 (Friday) – the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
November 30 (Sunday) – Saint Andrew
December 1 (Monday) – National Day of Romania
December 25- 26 (Thursday and Friday)- Christmas
