The county organization PSD Iaşi asks Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in an open letter, to give up the measures to restrict the expenses concerning the town halls. The Social Democrats of Iasi accuse the prime minister of taking Romania on the wrong road, which will make some mayors “to put the lock”.

The PSD organization sent a letter to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on Friday, the document being signed by the Iasi Social Democrats, the county councilors and the 47 mayors of the county party, informs News.ro.

“Mr. Premier, just cut, demolished, abolished. But do not invest, do not create, do not empathize. Take Romania on the wrong path. Stop!

The Social Democrats of Iasi claim the fact that the measures regarding the local administrations, included in package 2, will paralyze the activity in the town halls of the communes and small cities.

“The payment of the allowances of the persons with disabilities and the companions transferred to the mayors means, in short, bankruptcy. 80% of the localities of Iasi county will be unable to pay, they will not be able to cover these costs. In the rural area, the over 500,000 lei as much as the contributions at local level, as an annual average, can bring us to the social situation,”

At the same time, PSD Iaşi claims that people will pay almost double taxes for houses and cars, and the town halls will be put in the “ungrateful” situation to collect additional money from citizens without being able to provide better services.

According to PSD Iasi, the dismissal of 25 percent of the employees of the town halls will lead to blockages.

“Mr. Prime Minister, in the twelfth hour, we ask you not to apply measures without a broad consultation and without identifying the best solutions. Our request has hundreds of thousands of Iasi whose lives will be upset. We speak on behalf of parliamentarians, county councilors and 47 PSD mayors, Vocal in the public space, but they share the same fears ”, it is shown in the letter PSD Iasi.
