The fire took place in the city of Chengde in the province of Hebei on April 8, at 21.00 local, Xinhua reported, citing local authorities, writes Reuters.

People left in the asylum of the elderly were transferred to a nearby hospital for additional observations and treatments, Xinhua reported, without specifying their number.

The experts went to the asylum to investigate the cause of the fire, the news agency said.
