The Minister of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Vladimir Chesovitin visited the Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant and got acquainted with the technology of waste disposal and their secondary use in production.
Electrolyte coal foam is one of the first waste from aluminum production, the processing of which was mastered on an industrial scale. The head of the site of production of fluoride salts and dusty devices of Rusal Krasnoyarsk JSC Artem Malyshkin noted that it includes up to 70% of the components valuable for electrolysis. Therefore, the feasibility of its processing is economically justified.
In the process, coal foam is divided into carbon and electrolyte components. The latter returns to the process of electrolysis of aluminum in the form of flotation cryolite. From one ton of coal foam, more than 700 kg of cryolite is obtained.
The director of the Ecology Department Rusal Igor Fomichev explained that this completely covers the need for the plant in this product. Also, the return of waste to production eliminates the need to take them somewhere and store them. This is extremely profitable for enterprises, because there is no cost of environmental payments and the construction of landfills for waste disposal. And as a result – an environmental effect.
The Minister of Ecology of the Territory Vladimir Chesovitin noted that KrAZ goes along the right track, giving a second life to waste.
“Two types of products are obtained from the waste that can sharply reduce the number of production waste burials. Now it is the policy of the state. The President of Russia indicates the approach that at least 25% of the waste should be allowed into the secondary turn. Today we saw how this is happening on Kraz. Two types of products are produced here. One goes to re -use in order to receive metal, and the second into the national economy. It is very noteworthy that these technologies are directly developed by the enterprise itself. Not purchased, not purchased, they did not pay money for them. The technology was invented at the factory by trial and error. Our goal is that all enterprises of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory begin to implement such projects, ”said Vladimir Chesovitin.
Recall that the work to restore the order in the field of waste management and their processing in the territory of the region is carried out as part of the federal project “Economics of the Closed Cycle” of the national project “Environmental well -being”.
