Andrei Nicolescu, the president of Dinamo, had a direct meeting with Dumitru Giuliano, the president of ARESEL, one of the associations that filed a criminal complaint against the “dogs” after the racist banners from Rapid – Dinamo, score 3-2.

The president of the Alliance for Reform, Social Equity, Emancipation and Freedom Party (ARESEL) announced that the red and white team has undertaken a series of measures to combat racism.

Andrei Nicolescu met with the president of ARESEL. What measures did Dinamo take: “Anti-racism T-shirts”

“An important step against racism in Romanian football.

Following the racist incidents directed against the Roma at the Rapid – Dinamo match, I had a direct discussion with the management of the Dinamo club, President Andrei Nicolescu and Dragoș Petcu.

Here is what Dinamo assumed:

  • A video material with the team's players, dedicated to combating racism and xenophobia and promoting diversity, published on April 8, International Roma Day, on all the club's official channels.

  • Anti-racism t-shirts at the match with U Cluj, the players will enter the field with personalized t-shirts, each with an individual message written on the back.

  • A dedicated meeting between the representatives of the club and our organization, to build long-term measures together”, Dumitru Giuliano posted on his Facebook page.

ARESEL and the Roma for Democracy Association filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office attached to the 6th District Court of Bucharest following the events at the arena in Giulești. Dinamo's gallery displayed several racist banners.

  • “Is there any one at your place / Don't be rude”

  • “Bombers dressed in Ie / A white spot in the s*ggany”

  • “Yesterday in captivity / Today in the gallery”

  • “Your only catch / Is the iron in the warp”

  • “The windows, the bottles, the Corsicans and the bocs / Such leaders, such cherry supporters”, were some of the racist messages displayed by the dynamists.

Dumitru Giuliano had another reaction related to the subject: “Today in the gallery, tomorrow in prison”

A few days after the events on Giulești, Dumitru Giuliano photographed himself while writing the message “Today in the gallery, tomorrow in prison”, in response to the racist banner that was the most criticized: “Yesterday in captivity / Today in the gallery”.

I don't wish this on anyone. Neither for those who insult us, nor for those who believe that racism is “just a joke”. But maybe some would understand better if they felt, even once, what it's like to be looked at as less than human just for who you are.

Today in the gallery, tomorrow in everyday life. Hate doesn't stay in the stadium. It goes with you home, on the subway, on the street. We are not asking for mercy. We demand respect
